Happy Release Day, Tracy! I’m so excited to bring you all an interview with Tracy and an eBook giveaway at the bottom of this post!!
Be sure and grab her book… it sounds fabulous!!
What was your inspiration to start (and keep) writing?
Reading! I love watching the way other authors weave stories, it totally inspires me to pick a pen up myself. And that’s what keeps me going. The more I read, the more inspired I get to write.
Tell us a bit about the genre you write in and how it found you?
My publishers call my genre ‘beach noir’. So water settings with a dark undercurrent. I’ve been told it’s the new sub-genre of psychological thrillers…
Is there any author whom you’d admire and read every book they publish? Who and why?
I love Anita Shreve and have most of her novels. I adore the way she writes, her settings, the full on emotion she gets across. I met her once at an event and she was just lovely too, so shy and unassuming.
If you watch TV what are your shows right now?
I love watching British crime / thriller dramas like The Night Manager which I’m currently enjoying, featuring the gorgeous Tim Hiddleston (Taylor Swift’s current beau). And of course, I’m totally addicted to Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead too. I recently finished watching Sons of Anarchy which I loved… is there a theme here? Basically, I like dark stuff!
Do you have any talents other than writing that your fans maybe don’t know about?
I have the record among my friends for burning the most things at any parties I host: I set sausages on fire at a BBQ once, burnt a mirror frame with a candle, set aflame mulled wine at a Christmas event… the list goes on. Does that count as a talent?
If you could go on vacation anywhere where would you choose and why?
Moscow. I’ve always been fascinated by the place, especially the snow… I love snow! I’ve travelled all over with my old job as a travel editor and visited some beautiful places (the Maldives, Thailand, Lapland, Australia). But Russia has always fascinated me.
Do you have any writing rituals we should all start doing?
I use an Excel spreadsheet to plot my novels! Sounds really strange but it works. You can find out more athttp://www.bookperfect.co.uk/
What is your favorite movie? & then book to movie?
My favourite film is True Romance, such a classic and so intense, dramatic and filled with romance. The best book to movie is The English Patient, what a great film!
What are three foods you can’t live without?
Chocolate, hummus and pasta carbonara (ideally not all mixed together)
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Casual ‘dinner party racism’
