I’m excited to bring you an interview with Olivia from Jill’s Manhattan series.
One thing I loved about you is how much you love New York! What is it about the city that you adore the most?
Having moved here from Rhode Island, I think the thing that I adore the most is how the city is always bustling. Having grown up in a relatively small town, I wasn’t really used to all of the conveniences living in NYC has to offer. I mean, there’s groceries delivered straight to your door, foreign movies at midnight, and every neighborhood tells a different story. From Coney Island, to The Village, to Astoria, I love it here!
You and Amalia are such great friends… is there anything about her that drives you crazy? (Ha!)
The things that drives me the most crazy about Amalia is the thing that I also love her to pieces for. Her loyalty. She is an incredibly loyal person who will do anything for her friends. Unfortunately, she extends this loyalty to people who don’t deserve it ( *coughs* Michael *coughs* )
You had so much going on your last year in college, I probably would have lost my mind, how did you keep your cool?
If you figure it out, let me know! Truthfully, I am a pretty calm person in general. Alex also really helps keep me grounded.
Let’s talk favorite things…
What is your absolute can’t live without favorite food? French fries
Do you love any TV shows? Yes! I love Scandal, Dawson’s Creek, and Game Of Thrones.
What’s your favorite memory from college?
Probably one involving my ex-boyfriend (don’t tell Alex!) We broke into an ice skating rink late at night (well technically one of his friends worked there and had the keys). We had the whole ice to ourselves and fell all over the place as we tried to skate together.
Your mother is a bit of a handful, do you have any regrets with the planning of the wedding with her involved?
She is a bit of a handful, but I don’t. At the end of the day she didn’t really have final say in any of the arrangements. It was nice to have her there and I hope she makes more of an effort to be a part of my life.
Tell me about life right now… what should we know?
I am in a Ph.D program and it is a lot of work, even more then getting my Master’s was! Married life is great. No plans to have any children for probably ten years though! I heard from Amalia and she is doing well also. She started a new job and is loving her life down in Florida. It seems that everything really worked out in the end.

About the Author:
I’m a native New Yorker who now lives in North Carolina with my two amazing dogs. I was actually inspired to start writing novels from watching television of all things. There were these amazing shows I watched growing up and I thought if I could just create a story that touched people the way that these stories have touched me, I would accomplish my goal.
Apart from my novels, I have been published in magazines, newspapers, and other websites including The Huffington Post and HelloGiggles. I am also the Features Editor for the online magazine HomeMade Bride.
In addition to writing, I hold an M.A in Psychology and taught at the college level for three years.
