Guest Post & Giveaway by author Cassandra Piat

Happy 1st Blogiversary, Hello… Chick Lit and thanks so much Aimee for giving me the opportunity of being part of your birthday celebrations.

As I’ve never done a character interview before I thought I’d give it a go today! I’ve chosen Lucy, the main character from my romantic comedy What’s it gonna be? to be interviewed. As the story was largely inspired by my life, there is a lot of me in Lucy :- )

So over to Lucy…

What is your favourite book or author?

I’m a huge fan of romantic comedies, I love books that make me laugh and that leave me feeling happy. My favorite author would have to be Sophie Kinsella, with my favorites being What’s your number? and Can you keep a Secret?

What are you reading at the moment?

Dangled Carat by Hillary Grossman, such a fun read about her life with her commitment phobic boyfriend. It reminds me so much of my boyfriend Matt, who is also a huge commitment-phobe, it’s so funny to see the similarities in their actions and reactions. And she also has creepy stalker in her life too, just like me!

Note from Cassandra: “I based Matt on my now-husband, and he took seven years to decide to propose, despite being in his late thirties! But hey, he finally did it 🙂 We have now been married nearly 15 years and have three kids.”

What is your favorite Food?

Definitely pizza and chocolate!

What is your favorite TV show?

What is your favorite season?

Definitely Autumn, I love it when the summer days turn cooler and the leaves change colours.

I’ve got a prize pack of 5 ebooks to give away to one lucky reader as well as the opportunity to name a character in my upcoming novel Stuck with Me.

Adam, the love interest, has three sisters, Jo, Mia & Name the character! She’s the youngest of the three sisters and is feisty, outspoken and fiercely loyal to her big brother.

You’re going on vacation and money is no object, where do you go and why?  Who do you go with?

With Matt of course! We’d go travelling around Europe for a few months using a Eurorail pass, going wherever the wind takes us. Then we would head to New York because I absolutely need to see New York and walk through Central Park – not to forget find out if Central Perk really exists 🙂 Then we’d head to Canada and Alaska for a few months because these are places that make me dream…

What is your worst and best habit?

Worst habit – I’m always late! I tend to leave home at the time when I’m meant to have arrived wherever it is I’m going. I actually hate waiting so I’ve gotten into the habit of being late and now I can’t seem to break it. It drives my boyfriend crazy!

Best habit – I always try to see the funny side of things.

How do you relax on weekends?

I love going down to Matt’s beach cottage in Roches Noires, it’s right on the beach. It’s just magical there – definitely a little piece of paradise…

I love Sophie Kinsella too and definitely enjoyed Can You Keep a Secret. My favourite from her so far, I think, was Twenties Girl. As for long waits for proposals, I was with my boyfriend 12 years before he popped the question. But we met when I was 19, so it didn’t feel ridiculously long. 😉
    Fun interview, thank you!
