My Review:

These were the first books of Aimee’s I’ve read and obviously since we share the same first name, I just had to read something by her.  I was so pleased that the stories lived up to the chick lit covers!  Fun, quick, funny and a tad racy.  It was easy to read the first 2 in the hour or so before bedtime one night and they are so easy to get into that they go quicker than quick.

I actually bought this series on Amazon with a gift card I had and I wasn’t disappointed at all.  The book is about three friends, all of very different personalities – Ciara, Elle & Gem.  I loved their names and I loved the differences in personalities.  Rich, and poor they found their likenesses and threw the rest to the wind.

I gave these two books 4.5 coffees.

four and a half coffee

Ciara is the center of book 1 when she falls into ‘something’ for Elle’s cousin Zack.  I love the connection these two have although the racy parts I did skip through (remember, I’m prude).  I did feel like the two have a connection that could last through the series and I’m excited to find out if it does.

Book two send you straight to Miami with the girls and their shenanigans and just like book 1 it starts out with a bang.  Ciara can’t seem to ger Zack out of her head (or life) which makes things a bit tricky for her throughout this second book.  I’m really excited to move onto book 3!

Elle & Gem tend to get themselves into a bit of trouble right off the bat, which makes for a humorous story-line and leads you directly into needing to know what happens in the next installment of the Summer Fling Series.

Aimee is a great writer and has a way with really drawing you into the story quickly.  The books are short so buy them all because it literally took me maybe 30-40 minutes to get through each (but I am a speed reader).  I love that these are funny and a true portrait of a racy chick lit book with unique characters that will remind you of watching an episode of 90210 or the like.

What I Loved:

-The story is very chick lit and as you all know, I love that.
-Ciara is extremely likeable, Irish and almost the innocent girl with the wild crowd.
-Zack is a cutie and you kind of root for him and Ciara even though they aren’t ‘really’ a thing.

What I didn’t Love:

-I’m not a fan of sex scenes, I prefer the closed door idea but I’m willing to change it and I enjoyed these books even skipping over the racy bits.

What I thought of the Covers:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the covers.  That’s what attracted me to these books!

My Conclusion:

These are great vacation light reads that will leave you quickly wanting to move through the series so make sure you buy them all.  Each book is short, possibly even shorter than a true novella but I kind of liked that.  I have a hard time putting down a book once I start and having to move to a new book between the ‘vacation’ story-lines was nice for doing things such as feeding my children.

I loved these and I will definitely be reading them all and probably buying everything Aimee has ever written. (Plus she has an awesome name!)

Buy these, read them and tell me below who your favorite character & vacation spot is & was!
