This book caught me by surprise! Of course it’s the first book of Liberty’s I’ve read because it’s her first book and she doesn’t disappoint. I’m already dying for book 2! (and there will be a book 2!)
If you’ve ever had a rockstar crush, and come on now, we ALL have! This book will make your heart swoon once again. Kallie Reagan is a new writer who wroter her rockstar crush dream in form of a novel, which made it’s way to Niles Russell who is the lead singer of her favorite band.
Not only does the book fall into Nile’s hands, but he reaches out to Kallie and gives her the opportunity to possibly live out her dream novel… in some ways at least. But obviously, this is a book, things are not smooth sailing by any means. Ex husbands, ex girlfriends, worried friends and family all make problems for Kallie and Niles and you definitely root to see them overcome them if they can. Do they? You’ll have to read the book to find out.
This book has all the elements of a great chick lit book, drama, laughter and imagination. I loved Kallie’s character and I enjoyed how Liberty was able to capture the personality of a rockstar, almost like she’s met one herself! (although, I’ve never met one so maybe this is just my idea of how a rockstart would be).
What I Loved:
-This book is rockstar crush imagination at it’s finest. We’ve all had them and Liberty is able to put it on paper in such a great way.
-Niles! He’s definitely a hottie but he’s got his flaw, I actually like that. Because of his flaws I felt like he had the most character growth through-out the book.
-I laughed and I nearly cried, this is definitely a feel good book right up to the last page.
What I didn’t Love:
-I kind of wish Kallie’s divorce had been final a little longer before she met Niles. I get though, what Liberty was doing making it fresh because it added some twists to the story.
-That I need to wait for book 2!
What I thought of the Cover:
-The cover is cute and fitting of the story. It does make me think ‘women’s fiction’ as a genre, which is could definitely fit into.
Buy the book, ignore your children and read it in one sitting, it’s that good. In fact I’ll say what I say for all the books I obviously LOVE – buy a copy and keep it in your ‘book freezer’ (which, ya know is a chest freezer only for your favorite books) in case your house burns down so it’s safe.
Liberty started off as a writer with a bang of a series and I’ve no doubt we’ll see more great books from her in the near future. I for one can’t wait to read them.
About the Author:
Liberty Kontranowski is a romantic women’s fiction author who adores all things lovey-dovey with a pinch (or more) of hubba-hubba. When she’s not at the keyboard, she’s taxiing around her three boys, knocking back craft beers with the hubs, blogging, fangirling, and dreaming up more fake people. She also spends an inordinate amount of time drinking coffee and dreaming of the day she can bid adieu to far-too-wintry Michigan and move to a place where she can write with her toes in the sand.
Liberty loves to hear from her readers (and otherwise cool people) so give her a yell.
